FAQs
Got a burning question? We've answered some of the most common ones below:
Shopping
Do you have a physical store?
Not yet! While having a storefront is a long-term goal of ours, right now you can only find us online and at pop-ups around the Twin Cities. Head to our Events page to see where we'll be next.
Are your books used?
Yes! For the time being, 99% of our book inventory is used! (We veeeery occasionally stock new titles we're particularly excited about.) We anticipate expanding our offerings as our shop continues to grow.
We keep an eye out for books that are still in good condition with their covers in place and no pages missing, but you might get things such as scuffed covers, ex-library editions, or annotations. We do our best to label every item with an accurate assessment of its condition, and the vast majority of our books are in great to great or excellent condition.
What if I want to support you, but you don't have the book that I'm looking for in stock?
You can still support us by shopping for new books and eBooks on Bookshop.org or buying your audiobooks from Libro.fm! Just select Beck’s Books as your preferred bookstore and we’ll get commission on every order you place!
What is your return policy?
All sales are final. We do not accept returns or exchanges, but please reach out if you have any issues with your order.
How long will it take to receive my order?
Your book will take 2-6 days to arrive depending on how far you are from us. We ship using Media Mail to keep shipping costs low, but that does mean it can take a little longer!

How do you choose what books to sell?
All of our books are by or about folks with marginalized identities, and/or books that align with our values and ethos (think leftist, anarchist, collectivism vibes).
Everything we pick is something we would personally read, have read, or would gift to a friend. Our goal is to highlight books you may not have found otherwise by voices that are not always readily accessible on mainstream bookshelves.
Where do you get your used books from?
Our books come from a combination of online wholesale marketplaces, donations, library sales, and thrift stores. We are very intentional about not taking more than we need and not taking resources from those who need them.
Partnerships
Do you accept donations?
Yes! We're always accepting monetary and book donations to support our work. If you'd like to make a monetary donation, you can Venmo @longlivethebookstore with "Donation" in the notes line. If you'd like to donate gently used books that align with our focus on marginalized voices, please visit our Contact page or email us at shop@longlivethebookstore.com. Thank you for your support!
Can I sell my books in your shop?
We're currently prioritizing used books, but that may change in the future! Feel free to fill out this proactive inquiry form if you're interested in us stocking your book.
Can I sell my wares in your shop?
Maybe! We've prioritized ordering from wholesale retailers, but are exploring how to work with local and smaller artists/makers on wholesale and consignment bases. Feel free to fill out this proactive inquiry form and we may reach out if it's a good fit!
Are you hiring?
We are not hiring and do not plan to hire any time in the near future. At the moment, we are worker owned, meaning the only two people who work for the shop are the two people that own it. Right now, this is an intentional choice that feels right for us, but we're grateful for your interest!
